Managing Diversity In Eritrea ?

By Fesseha nair

Diversity is a human or natural property that has existed and will exist. The mixing of people of different cultures, religions, customs and skills of living have been the engines of civilization since the recorded history of the human being.  Our world today is the result of the crossroads of cultures and cradles of fertile diversity. Similarly, our country Eritrea is a crossroad of cultures and cradles of fertile

UN chief tells of good signs from Eritrea

Posted Tuesday, June 29 2010 at 20:10

NAIROBI, Tuesday

Eritrea is taking steps in the right direction but should do more to prove it is complying with UN resolutions on security issues affecting its neighbours, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said yesterday.

Eritrea participated in a Qatar-led effort to solve its border dispute with Djibouti and it sent representatives to the Istanbul conference on Somalia last month.

“While recent developments represent a move in the right direction, I urge the government of Eritrea to do more to provide evidence [...]

Declaration of a new Eritrean Civil Society organization in America

Eritrean Foundation for Social Justice & Development (EFSJD)

Why EFSJD was established?

The people of Eritrea today are lacking basic human rights that most of the people in the planet are enjoying.  Lack of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, free press, the ability of citizens to claim their own lands, and Equal citizenship for all is some examples.

In memory of Hamid Idris Awate. The Father of the Eritrean Revolution

AWATE

On May 28th 1962, the martyr and father of the Eritrean armed struggle for independence and freedom,  passed away peacefully without any fanfare or ceremony.

The Eritrean armed struggle for independence was at its infancy when the hero passed away, but his heroic companions continued the struggle with the same determination and spirit.  It took 30 years of continuous and heroic armed struggle for Eritrea to be free from the yoke of Ethiopian occupation.

The price of Eritrean independence was [...]

By Matt McGrath

BBC News Science reporter

Africa is witnessing the birth of a new ocean, according to scientists at the Royal Society.

Geologists working in the remote Afar region of Ethiopia say the ocean will eventually split the African continent in two, though it will take about 10 million years.

Lead researcher Tim Wright who is presenting the research at the Royal Society’s Summer Exhibition, described the events as “truly incredible”.
