A partnership for Democratic Change formed

It was in 28th of July when I arrived at the site of the conference see crowds of conference participants arriving from all parts of the world, thus Europe, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Sudan, Middle East, Ethiopia and many others. The conference was a miniature of Eritrea.  Every participant from political, civic society organizations, women, youth  and elders, veteran fighters and all nationalities about 350 attended the conference.

UN welcomes Ethiopian policy to allow Eritrean refugees to live outside camps

10 August 2010 – Ethiopia has recently decided to take a new approach to Eritrean refugees by allowing them to live outside camps, a move welcomed by the United Nations refugee agency.

Under the so-called ‘out-of-camp’ scheme announced last week, Eritreans who can sustain themselves financially or have relatives or friends who commit to supporting them no longer have to stay in camps.

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — A group of exiled Eritreans say they’re setting up an interim government to serve in case Eritrea’s authoritarian government collapses.

The group said Tuesday they believe Eritrea’s isolated government will fall on its own under the weight of international sanctions. Group member Ali Mohamed Saed Mohammed said the group, which met in the capital of neighboring Ethiopia, is also writing a new constitution.
